Batayan News Bangladesh National Information Batayan was launched last June to easily deliver various services of the government to the people with the help of digital technology. It is actually a web portal made up of 25 thousand websites. This review is about how useful information people have on this portal, how user-friendly it is, how rich in information it is. The world's largest digital web portal has been launched in Bangladesh as part of the government's efforts to bring government services to people's doorsteps. Its name is Bangladesh National Information Bureau (www.bangladesh.gov.bd). Inaugurating this portal on June 23, Prime Minister's Information Technology Adviser Sajib Wazed Joy said, "We have verified that no other country in the world has 25,000 government websites in one place. Only in Bangladesh now. More than 50,000 government officials have received training in data entry. It was planned and implemented by the Access to Information (A2I) programme. It is good to say that there was a website at the address www.bangladesh.gov.bd earlier. But then its scope was less. It was also said in the opening ceremony that 1.5 million people see this information every day. On the night of July 23, the ranking and popularity checking website Alexa (www.alexa.com) showed that National Information Broadcasting was ranked 242 among the websites viewed from Bangladesh. And in the world at number 82,835. It is the government's desire that the citizens of the country will use the National Information Service as a 'one stop service' to get information on agriculture, education, health, law, tourism etc. It is said that educational institution circulars, gazettes, e-services, government forms, citizen charters, lists of officials of various government institutions, more than seven lakh e-directories, lists of freedom fighters, government development activities, names, addresses, phone numbers of people's representatives, etc. are all information 'Bangladesh National' Information can be found at Batayan'. 4,550 at the Union level, 14,460 at the Upazila level, 4032 at the District level, 455 at the Division level, 64 at the Zilla Parishad level, 488 at the Upazila Parishad level, 55 at the Ministry-Division level, 345 at the Directorate level and 414 at the City Corporation and Municipal level. Data transmission has been created. It even has an English version to introduce Bangladesh to the world court, which is commendable. However, there is a discrepancy between the Bengali and English versions in providing information. For example, the preface of the first page of the Bengali edition reads: 'The construction of about 25,000 web portals (information portals) has been completed for all government departments including unions, upazilas, districts, divisions, directorates, ministries of the country under the national database. If portals are launched in all departments, it will be easier for people to access information and services.' On the other hand, the English version says that more than 25 thousand portals have been created which are in experimental (beta) status. Thus, the data and statistics of Bengali and English versions can be seen throughout Batayan. Although there is much in the national data transmission, it is not user-friendly. That is, while using it, one has to face many kinds of problems. Finding any information here is like finding a needle in a haystack. Then there may be doubts about whether the information found can be relied upon or not. Because, there is a lot of wrong information and data. Once a user sees one wrong piece of information, it's natural to question other pieces of information. And when you see page after page of misinformation, you will understand how serious the situation is. 61 ministries and departments are written in large on the first page. But there are 60 inside. Again, 345 directorates and other buttons are pressed and 353 are found, of which there are two information commissions. As the names of ministries, departments or departments are not arranged alphabetically, it is difficult and laborious to find one's choice from the huge list. Again, you will not find anything useful by typing in the search on the first page. Searched separately by writing Kalapara, Patuakhali, Kuakata etc. Nothing was found. Searching by writing Cox's Bazar, 'hospital list' was seen at the beginning. And after clicking on it, the list of hospitals of different departments and districts of the country was found. If you go to your district or upazila on this batayan, you cannot return to batayan from there. But this opportunity could easily be kept. The point is that the portal, which could have been an important and unique service to the citizens, has been created in a very careless and negligent manner. Not only the accuracy of the information, but also the quality and format of the information may not have been thought about by the people involved in the construction of this website. I chose Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali district to understand the extent of inconsistency of information. When you go there, you will be amazed. There are inconsistencies in the names of Union Parishad (UP) chairmen, village names and numbers. But I had to go to the Union Information and Service Center website to be shocked. I saw that in June 2014, the income of Ishibpur Union, which topped the list of top 20 service providers, was Tk 10 crore 48 thousand 875 in a month. Which is simply impossible! The lowest earner is Harta Union of Wazirpur. Their income is Rs 1,19,638. One day's list shows that Noakhali Union of Noakhali Sadar earned Tk 33,730. And number 3 is 'admin'. His income is Tk 12,070. Then understand what is the status of data entry on the entire website! It is our hope that with the combined efforts of all, one day the national information exchange will become a web portal of excellent quality, with the number of
